Give browsing time a beginning and an end
A practical way to use Milo’s browsing limits and schedules as part of your family’s everyday device routine.

“Can I have a little longer?” is easier to talk about when everyone knows what browsing time is for and when it finishes. Milo’s time controls can help you put that plan into practice inside the browser.
Start with the plan, then set the controls
First, decide what browsing time is for today: a creative activity, a school project, or exploring a favorite topic. Talk about when it fits around the rest of the day and what will happen afterward.
The useful routine is one your family understands. Milo doesn’t choose the right amount of browsing for your child; you decide what fits and adjust it as your needs change.
Use limits and schedules for different jobs
A browsing limit sets an allowance for time in Milo. A schedule sets the windows when Milo browsing is available. Essentials and Plus include time controls, so you can use these settings alongside the profile’s approved websites.
For example, you might choose an after-school browsing window and a time allowance within it. Set these in the child’s Screen Time settings, then check the device to make sure the result matches what you intended. The family settings guide explains how to manage both controls.
Keep the whole device in view
Milo’s controls cover browsing inside Milo. Time spent in another browser, a game, or a video app is managed separately. Use the device’s parental controls when your routine also needs limits on those apps.
Try the routine together before relying on it. Check that browsing is available when expected, that the end of a session behaves as expected, and that parent settings are protected. A short device check can turn a setting on a dashboard into something you have actually seen work.
Revisit the routine when school schedules, interests, or device use change. The goal is a browsing space that fits your family’s day and gives your child a clear next step when it’s time to stop.
